Weblogs lijken allemaal hetzelfde te zijn. Toch lezen sommige net iets prettiger en merk je dat je naar bepaalde weblogs vaker terug gaat dan naar andere. In de meeste gevallen ligt dit natuurlijk aan de inhoud van de weblog. Maar ongemerkt speelt de indeling van de weblog ook mee. De volgende afbeelding geeft de structuur van een perfecte blog weer:
