Squidoo is a community website platform that allows users to create pages (called lenses) for subjects which interest them. Creating one or more pages on Squidoo is easy. First you create an account. After this you can start your first page. You can build up your page using different modules. Using the text modules you can create different chapters on your page to create a full lengthy article. A module you can use for link building is the “link list” module.

Squidoo does not let you use it platform, pure for the sake of creating back links. Articles should be useful and informative. They should not be full of keyword spamming or lists of links to your own website. Try to create a page as you would on your own website. Keep it informative, useful and make sure the links to your website are relevant in moderate in numbers.

Most of the social networks will generate useful backlinks. Although links from Twitter and Facebook will give you a short boost on your position in Google, the effect will not last. This does not mean social media is useless for linkbuilding. On the contrary! Most backlinks to popular websites are not generated or requested by the webmasters them selfs, but by enthusiastic visitors. So use social media to activly promote your website.
